Biography

Psychotherapist and media psychologist, Judith Sills, Ph.D. is the author of the # 1 New York Times bestseller, Excess Baggage: Getting Out of Your Own Way. She is also the author of five other popular psychology books, translated into 11 languages.

A widely cited expert and nationally recognized consultant in both workplace and romantic relationships, Dr. Sills was both a contributing editor for the workplace at Psychology Today, and a contributing editor for marriage for Family Circle Magazine. This unusual combination of relationship expertise across profoundly different settings has caused her work to be cited in such diverse publications as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, CNN, O Magazine, among many others. She has also been a regular contributor to Oprah and The Today Show, appearing as both a workplace and a relationship expert.

A three year National Science Foundation Fellow, and winner of the Alvin Johnson Fellowship, Judith Sills received her Ph.D. from the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research in Personality and Social Psychology. She is licensed in Pennsylvania. Dr. Sills maintains a private practice in Philadelphia, seeing individuals and clients virtually who struggle with relationship conflict, family or parenting struggles, workplace dilemmas or the goal of personal behavior change.
